42 Technology (42T), a UK-based product design and innovation consultancy, has signed a strategic partnership with Fujitsu to further expand the AI capabilities it offers across client projects. The new collaboration builds on 42T’s existing portfolio of AI tools, technologies and partnerships, and its track record in delivering cutting-edge AI-enabled solutions across industrial, consumer, and medtech sectors.
Under the partnership, 42T will gain access to Fujitsu’s latest AI research and a wide range of deep-tech components developed initially for use by its own business units and in collaboration with global enterprise clients. These include advanced technologies in areas such as automated machine learning, human motion and intention recognition, and technologies to detect and prevent AI hallucination and bias. The partnership also provides access to Fujitsu’s AI sandbox – enabling 42T and its clients to test and refine AI concepts in a low-risk environment. This tool will be invaluable in helping fast track the development of more intelligent, real-world solutions.
“Our new partnership with Fujitsu will complement and enhance 42 Technology’s existing AI capabilities that are increasingly shaping the development of next-generation, market-winning products. It will also strengthen our position with clients who are increasingly exploring AI-enabled product development as a way of unlocking transformative new opportunities for their businesses,” said Dr Peter Brown, Chief Commercial Officer at 42T.
42T is one of the first UK companies selected to join Fujitsu’s latest partnership initiative which is an expansion of Fujitsu’s AI innovation platform including its Fujitsu Kozuchi suite of AI technologies. The decision to partner with 42T reflects a broader shift in the tech giant’s strategy to move towards a wider commercialisation of its AI advances and development tools by working with external product development consultancies.
“Fujitsu’s global research teams develop advanced AI technologies into products for our major enterprise customers. In a desire to democratise access to these advanced technologies and with a view towards open innovation, Fujitsu Research has decided to partner with selected companies around the world that are able to rapidly create AI solutions for their customers.”
“Fujitsu is excited to be working with 42T whose innovative client projects would increasingly benefit from the latest advances in AI. In partnership, Fujitsu brings the technologies and 42T develops the solutions. Together we look forward to creating novel use cases for our technologies and grow 42T‘s AI capability as it delivers market-winning solutions to its clients.”
42T is increasingly applying AI to help its clients solve specific technical and commercial challenges and to out-innovate their competitors – whether that is making products easier to use or improving manufacturing efficiency through cost reduction, improved quality or streamlined production.
Recent 42T successes include using AI to improve the accuracy of a handheld diagnostic device for detecting congenital cataracts in babies; and developing an AI-powered line clearance technology to meet the cost and performance needs of pharmaceutical manufacturers.
