42 Technology has been featured in the 2026 Visionaries Yearbook from ‘Imaging and Machine Vision Europe’ (IMVE), in an interview exploring the challenges of commercialising AI-driven imaging technologies.
The article explains how 42T integrates imaging, AI and systems engineering to develop bespoke, scalable solutions and uses an automated pharmaceutical line-clearance application to illustrate the approach. This particular solution was developed in collaboration with Balluff, Synaptics and Arcturus Networks and combines industrial image acquisition with Edge AI processing and deep learning to support automated inspection.
The interview highlights the importance of fully understanding the processes being monitored, integrating with existing automation infrastructure and developing solutions that can be deployed across multiple production lines.
It also points to the growing potential of Edge AI for machine-vision applications as more cost-effective computing solutions become available. Edge AI can reduce latency and help address the cybersecurity and data management concerns associated with cloud-based approaches, which 42T believes will open up further opportunities for scalable industrial automation.
