Euan is Head of Systems and Photonics at 42T and a Managing Consultant with over 25 years of experience in technology development across startups, scale-ups, and global engineering firms. With a PhD in Nonlinear Spectroscopy from Heriot-Watt University, Euan brings deep expertise in optical systems, photonics, display technologies, and algorithm development.
At 42T, he leads complex, cross-disciplinary projects involving optical design, signal processing, and machine learning. He was the technical lead on a on a next-generation optical sensing platform and has delivered projects using FMCW radar, ML-based classification systems, and precision image processing. Euan is also a prolific inventor with more than 40 patent families and over 200 patents to his name and has contributed to technical literature including the Handbook of Optoelectronics.
He is a UK technical expert and head of delegation for the IEC TC110 electronic displays standards committee and is a frequent speaker on product development, colour perception, and optical technologies.
Life outside work
Beyond consulting, Euan’s an inventor, a published author, and an international expert in display standards. He’s also a keen musician, a veteran fencer, and a part-time potter, when he’s not coding web tools in his spare time.
