Rowan is Head of Hardware Development at 42T and a Principal Consultant with over a decade of experience leading the design and delivery of complex, high-risk hardware and embedded systems. He has a background in physics and astrophysics and brings deep technical knowledge and systems engineering expertise to product development across industrial, consumer, and medical sectors.
At 42T, he has guided multidisciplinary teams through the development of connected products, from low-power embedded systems with multi-protocol communications to cutting-edge RF drying and induction heating technologies. He has led projects through CE and FCC certification and contributed to multiple successful product launches under compressed timelines.
Rowan also plays a strategic role in the business as a line manager, mentor, and reviewer. Supporting quality assurance, technical growth, and future-facing development.
Life outside work
When he’s not problem-solving with cross-functional teams, Rowan’s likely halfway up a mountain. He’s a passionate climber, snowboarder, hiker, and surfer who’s summited peaks over 7,000m in the Karakoram and thrives on the same challenge and clarity he brings to his engineering work.
