Duncan is a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer at 42T with over 30 years of industry experience across industrial tools, automotive, food and pharmaceutical machinery, medical devices, and diagnostics systems. He has extensive expertise in Concurrent Engineering principles, design for manufacture (DFM), and modular and platform design, and holds multiple patents in the field.
Duncan has designed a wide range of products, from a fully automated medical diagnostics machine for antibiotic efficacy testing to industrial coffee processing equipment and award-winning gas valve systems. Prior to joining 42T, he worked as a freelance design engineer on projects including pharmaceutical machinery, robotic control systems, precision optical devices, and ballistic protection systems.
He is an advanced user and administrator of SolidWorks and PTC Creo CAD/CAE platforms, and brings a hands-on, pragmatic approach to product development and technology scale-up.
Life outside work
Outside work, Duncan’s workshop is his second home. When he’s not tinkering with motorbikes or classic cars, he’s crafting custom guitars as a Master Luthier—his Organic Guitars have earned critical acclaim, all from a passion that started with a school project at age 15.
