Andy is a seasoned design & usability leader with over 35 years of experience, including 20 years specialising in medical devices and usability. With a BA (Hons) in Product Design from Sheffield Hallam University, he has worked globally across sectors such as consumer, industrial, scientific and medical, delivering innovative solutions for clients like Novartis, BT, Panasonic, BAA and Oxford Instruments.
His expertise spans industrial design, human factors, design strategy, GUI and packaging design, and programme management for complex medical development under FDA and MDR requirements. He has led major international projects, conducted human factors research worldwide, and holds over 20 patents.
Andy is also a regular speaker at design and usability conferences and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
Life outside work
Beyond work, Andy competes in grassroots motorsport, creates Steampunk art and costumes, has a passion for history, loves international travel and listens to Rock music and K-Pop.
