Toby is an Embedded Software Engineer at 42T with a Bachelor’s degree in Ethical Hacking and Cybersecurity from Coventry University. With a strong foundation in computer networking, secure programming and system-level debugging, Toby applies a practical and solutions-focused approach to complex technical challenges.
Before joining 42T, Toby completed a year in the defence sector, where he developed diagnostic tools for range systems and solved complex telemetry integration issues. At 42T, he has worked extensively on an advanced detection system and other projects involving embedded communications and hardware integration.
A notable early project included retrofitting a heat sealing diagnostic device to add real-time data transmission while maintaining the original SD card logging capability, requiring custom serial drivers and tight hardware integration.
Life outside work

When he’s not solving problems at work, Toby’s often tinkering with electronics at home or volunteering at his local Repair Café. He also enjoys mountain biking, climbing, and the occasional kayak adventure, preferably somewhere wild.
